Sol's 7th birthday!

Pokeman, Pokeman, Pokeman....
First present of the day. what is it?

Ahhhhh, scope....
Gabo's sneaking a peak.
Well, since everyone else is busy opening presents, i'll just pick my toes.

Grandma's here to make Sol his birthday breakfast.
Bowl of rice and a bowl of hearty seaweed soup, korean style.
Oops, a boo boo for the birthday boy.
Happy with a bag of his own tricks.
This is Star the reindeer I've know since 1979.

Went to the Saturday market in downtown Anchorage. Real skunk skin hat. Gabo loved it.
Street performer trying to get out of his state.
Sol painting away.
Gabo's like now what?
Another performer trying to get on his unicycle from a ladder.
He even juggles fire. Amazing.
Gabo found this statue interesting.
Now, Sol's birthday party really begins. It's a the Moose's Tooth.
People on Sol's guest list started showing up for the celebration. Stephanie for one.
A new friend Taylor was there. Gabo was very happy about that.
Still waiting for the food. This day also was the 12th birthday for the Moose's Tooth and they were celebrating it with a big party inside and outside. This place was packed and the food was about an hour wait.
Oh, Sol's about the crash. So durn tired....it's been a long day.
Pizza anyone? Food was fantastic.
Cake?
Yes, finally got a DS! Sweet.
Along with the DS came 5 new games. Sol's in heaven for sure.
After dinner we all headed to the bowling alley. Gabo's starting things up.
Is it my turn yet?
All the while Mario went straight to the Kareoke. He sang for the whole alley and won a few game. After all that we got home and Sol's warming up Sehee's DS while Gabo's warming up Sol's. It was a great 7th birthday for Sol. He was smile for days. Thank you Alaskan crew!

The night before Sol's 7th bday.

The event planners are hard at work.
Last minute details. Not many Pokeman stuff in Anchorage. Had a hard time getting any decorations to put on the wall.

Visiting great grandma

Hatcher Pass is part of Alaska's Gold Rush. This used to be a mining town back in the day. This area is also known for hiking, backpacking, gold panning and in the winter snow boarding.
Grandpa and the boys next to the river that great grandma's ashes were spread.
Gabo throwing a rose into the river and saying "hello". The boys never got to meet there great grandmother.
Now Sol's turn.
Mario's turn to give thanks!

Of course Gabo found a huge pipe tunnel. He crawled in....can you hear me now?
Road kill. Arctic squarrel. I mean flat arctic squarrel.
Grandpa trying to feed the squarrel.
Very happy grandparents.
A small lodging area near the gold mine. I forgot my mining pan. Durn it!

Day 2 of the 20th year class reunion

Ron and Les went on a Denali National Park tour and saw nothing but seagulls. I needed to get a picture of Ron with the hotel polar bear.
Les and Kenny, they started kindergarten together.
Cindy and me.
Few of the old crew. It was great to see them all.
yeah, it's almost 11pm but it looks like 11am.

After the dinner at the hotel, we went out to THE HOLE IN THE WALL in Anchorage.
Ron's talents are showcase here after a few drinks.
The happy couple. Auntie Les and Uncle Ron.
